I woke up to a downpour, the music of the rain blaring through the open window over my head. I love spring rain.

A deluge of water rushed across the parking lot at me like a little river and I strolled through it towards the Jeep making no effort to stay dry. It’s just as well, because I left my window open a crack and arrived to find my drivers seat soaked. By the time I hit the coffee shop 10 minutes later it looked a bit like I might have wet myself. Which, of course, only adds to my air of mystery.

The shades of green that mark spring and summer are abundant, the air is fresh, the wind is dancing through the city, the thunder and lightning are a perfect accent. Instead of the usual chorus of birds, there is an intermittent call from one to another as if to say “I’ll be there in a minute, wait for it to let up a bit”.

Hopefully the sky falling won’t toast Codie’s ride. As for me, I don’t really need it to be dry until my Breast Cancer 5k next weekend. Until then it will soothe, calm and provide an excuse to chill out and read in my favorite chair with the windows stretched open wide.
