I can count on one hand the number of times in my life that someone has surprised me, which is even more impressive when you realize I’m missing two fingers.

Okay, I have all my digits but I’m not talking about the “boo!” kind of surprise and I’m totally not including all the times I faked it. I mean the kind of surprise someone thought about, planned for and executed all in the quest for my ever elusive smile and my unbounded glee.

I’m taking next week off work for a little battery recharge and The Mc has planned some sort of crafty adventure, one that involves a road trip, a bikini and expressly prohibits me bringing my laptop. We’ll see about that last one.

It’s about damn time I took a few days off, I’ve been exhausted for months and since exhaustion for me equals frustration and frustration equals crying at the drop of a hat for no good reason I’m probably one of the least pleasant to be around people on the planet.

Here’s to vacation, packing, getting a mani-pedi and preparing for a lot of naps, some sunshine, days without looking at the BlackBerry and time with my beau.

Couldn’t you just barf?

How freaking sweet is that? Those are the best kind of surprises and an obvious testament to how much someone cares about you….when it’s out of sheer satisfaction at YOUR satisfaction and happiness. The Mc sounds like good people.
No barfing here. Just a lot of ‘awwwwww’.
    Enjoy the time away!!!!

    Maigh,
Glad to hear that you are not “too old” to let surprises still make you all bubbly and such. If the Mc wins with the laptop we will be sad but will be looking forward to the reenergized Maigh!

  3. Definitely leave the laptop. One less thing to carry around. Enjoy the lightness. :-)

YaHoo! The Mc shoots! He scores!

I agree with your sis – leave the laptop. Assign someone guest duty if you must. Or do “best of Maigh” week.

A true vacation is leaving ALL your regular stuff behind!

    Sooooo happy for you!
