Is it just me or has the rumble of the blogs died down?

Every day I get up and over coffee and The Today Show I take a quick look through Bloglines, seeing and reading what is to be seen and read. The last few weeks the number of posts has diminished drastically, leaving me with more Today Show and less…real humans.

Is it the summer threatening to end, everyone out for their last hoorah’s and coming home too weak and tired to fathom plinking it all out on a keyboard? Is it life in general catching up with us and Mother Time not being forgiving enough to find us 30 minutes? Is it too many beautiful wonderful and personal things happening that we don’t need/want to share with the masses…or are writers burning out?

I’m guilty, and I’m all of the above.

It’s hard to find the energy to do this every day, it’s hard to find things that happened in the last 24/48/72 hours that wasn’t so personal I could share and frankly after 4 years I’m burning out a smidge.

I continue to speculate about the rest of the cats and kittens in my Bloglines rolls.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. Where have all the bloggers gone?

Just as you have told me, it isn’t easy to do this everyday. I still wonder how you are able to accomplish it and happy that you do. I guess those 4 years have you up on us as to being more creative and on top of your game as to recognize topics as they arise. Personally, I think bloggers are just at a slump due to the summer ending but who am I to say….? I hope that is the case.

If you listen carefully, you can hear the boredom…it’s that white noise behind the sound of the humidity and heat.

The only thing the 4 years really gets me is a lack of inspiration for origional content.

Many days I’m tempted to re-post old entries because they fit again…like I’ve lost weight and can slide into my skinny jeans (which hasn’t and probably won’t ever happen).

It’s the dog days of summer. Best left to sitting on the porch and watching the condensation from your ice tea slide down the glass.

Glad that humidity is not an issue here, and the heat is dying off.

I’m as guilt as anyone. I took June off, and I’m well on my way to taking August off as well.

    Just not feeling it.

    Meh.

What scares me is that I’m ‘not feeling it’ when it comes to everything. Biking, blogging, dealing, parenting, etc. It must be something in the air….or the water.

I really really hope you don’t quit. It’s quite nice reading the funny/sappy/strange things that happen to other people. And you do it so well. We promise, we’ll quit the pressure. We’ll take a blog posted every few days. Please!

  9. Speak for yourself. I’ve been a posting fool.

Of course, that’s after basically taking 10 months off.

    But still.

For me, it is the depression, love. I want to be there, but can’t. I am glad that you still are though!

The mark of a true master blogger is blogging about nothing in particular or the fact that there is nothing in particular to blog about. Well done. It’s why I keep coming back.

What to say to all that!?!

There are a lot of blogging bulimics out there…binging and purging.

Duane…you know where to find me if you need me.

Summer ending? You must be crazy. Any day over 95 degrees is a day in hell. Hell is over and now you have another chance. Summer is just beginning! Go enjoy it.
