I earned these whimsical tootsie covers and can completely justify supplementing the usual flips on my hooves for hilarious ballet flats. I earned it by running for an hour Sunday morning, cycling for an hour Sunday night, walking for an hour + yesterday at lunch then getting up at 5 this morning to attack the hill in The Mc’s my neighborhood.

You should see what happens when I finish a half marathon.

Feets

There are stories to tell about the 13 turtle fatalities over the weekend and the 14 harvested (saved) eggs, about the people who will look you in the eye and smile with a sincere greeting of “good morning”, of the cool ocean breezes and the salt air that recharges my synapses, of the bike rides and long walks that make me feel alive…but they’ll all have to wait because I spent too much time in dreamland this morning trying not to loose touch with the sensations from the weekend away.

For now, pictures and short descriptions; even though I’m reluctant to share this magical and sleepy little island with anyone who doesn’t already know about it.

Sunset

I’m sitting outside my room on Jekyll Island in the sun recovering from a “jog” listening to the surf and I launch my mail (because I’m an idiot and apparently a junkie) to find that one of my brother Kevin’s best friends is climbing freaking Denali.Dude.

Bosskat also sent me the link to the daily dispatches via blog that document the climb and I’ve got to say I’ve never felt so lazy.

Wishing Kevin M. a safe home. Badass.

As of yesterday morning and after four offers, I’m under contract with a buyer for my condo with a tentative close date of June 18. Hopefully I didn’t just jinx myself.

I’ve also decided I need to honor my love of short hair, so that’s two less things to worry about. Yeay me!

Off to the Isle of Jekyll for 24 hours of fresh and salty air,

For those of you who also live in the dirty dirty, remember to check your shoes before you put them on, and shake out your laundry. The Mc found this little dude chillin’ at the foot of the bed last night when he came home from work. The bedroom is on the 2nd floor so I’m really curious as to how he got there/what he hitched a ride in.

Visitor

No thank you very much.

I love turtles.

Sadly, the Georgia Sea Turtle Center doesn’t open until June which means this weekend while we’re in that neck of the woods we’ll just have to plop ourselves on the sand and hope for a spotting while we plan a return trip for a night walk later in the summer.

Blah blah blah. I know. I gets me through the day.

For this fantastic photo Kelly took Friday night.

Traumatized? Me too. Now go, I need to be amused.

I write, you read. It's a clean and simple relationship.
