Upgrading WordPress, playing with themes, etc. It’ll be a work in progress for a few days.

Ran into a couple issues trying to get todays post up, but no matter! I have a substitute: the blog comments following their explanation of a massive accounting error.

Enjoy, maybe I’ll be back tomorrow.

But sometimes rocky.

Example 1: The new theme. Did I optimize for 800×600? Nope. Know why? Because it’s about me and for me and I run at 1280×1024. Hell, that was half the point of changing the design. I’m sick of everything being scrunched into a tiny column. Since I love you, though, I tweaked the theme to fit your needs.

Now I hate it.

Example 2: Did I keep the picture of me up? Nope. I’ve been slowly disappearing from the site for some time now. Started with a head and torso, migrated to head and shoulders…now ya get nothin’. That I kinda miss, so I might play with the design this weekend and see if I can find a good way to incorporate it.

*sigh*

Bring on the opinions. I know you’ve got ‘em.

Ella has a tough time with grammar fundamentals - like singular v. plural.

Reviewing activity this morning to make sure the “issue” was under control and found this.

So. Many. Theories.

For those who don’t know what they’re looking at, it’s a visit. From Vatican City. Busteeeeeeeeeeeeeeed.

Population- 2005 estimate 783

As of 31 December 2005 there were 557 people with Vatican citizenship, of whom all are dual-citizens of other countries (the majority being Italian).

Among the 557 were:
the Pope
58 Cardinals
293 Members of the clergy who serve as diplomatic envoys abroad
62 Lesser ranking clergy members who work in the Vatican
101 Officers, NCOs and men of the Papal Swiss Guard.
43 Lay persons

Any WP users out there who have already upgraded to Ronan?

Love it /hate it / install discomfort?

My shit was jank for about the last 24 hours, I know. Nothing I could do to fix it, but here’s what I finally got from my host when they kissed the boo boo and made it all better:

Very sorry about that. The rotation on the logfile that’s affecting the cgi behavior was broken. That logfile got to be too big and the cgi processes couldn’t run. We took care of the problem and your site is loading fine again.

Let us know if you need anything else.

To which I responded “I love you!” knowing full well I didn’t mean it. Damn my stupid mouth.

PS Thanks as always to Dave for attempting to rescue me from myself

I write, you read. It's a clean and simple relationship.
